This exhibition pays tribute to the photographer from Figueres Melitó Casals, known as Meli, creator of an immense archive of more than 100,000 images depicting the second half of the 20th century, which also serves as a visual record and cultural heritage. The exhibition highlights his versatility and the way photography functions both as a professional business and as a medium for artistic creation and visual communication. Through three emblematic spaces in the city, visitors will discover his career, his close relationship with Salvador Dalí, and a body of work that combines portraits, reportages, landscapes, postcards, and scenes of everyday life. A unique perspective on photography as art, profession, and cultural testimony.
Location: Empordà Museum, Exhibition Hall l’Escorxador and Salvador Dalí Birth House
