On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, Figueres comes alive with its bustling markets. A hub for both locals and tourists, the clothing market on Passeig Nou and the fruit and vegetable market in Plaça del Gra and Plaça Catalunya are perfect spots to explore and get a taste of the city.
Plaça del Gra has been a marketplace since 1886, when its covered structure—still standing today—was inaugurated. Since 1973, along with the neighboring Plaça Catalunya, it has hosted the weekly fruit and vegetable market every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Here, you’ll find local producers from the Empordà region offering fresh produce, as well as other delicacies like cured meats, cheeses, honey, nuts, and olive oils. On Thursdays, the always lively and bustling clothing market also takes place on Passeig Nou, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of market days in Figueres.
