Honey has been harvested in Empordà since ancient times.

Throughout the county there are different types of honey, depending on the flower they come from, among which the varieties of mille-flower, rosemary and orange blossom are predominant. The county’s producers sell pure, artisan honey that tends to crystallise after a certain period of time, which guarantees its properties, unlike pasteurised honeys, which lose part of the nutrients present in the honey during the production process.
