The land around Sant Pere Pescador, on the Empordà plain, is largely devoted to the cultivation of fruit trees.

In particular, excellent apples are harvested, famous for being particularly tasty, and certified as a product with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) ‘Manzana de Girona’. The varieties grown are Golden, Red Delicious, Gala and Granny Smith. They are eaten raw, but also cooked, both in main dishes and desserts, and can be found in the markets and food shops of the region.
